The O.L.A Convent Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi State is located in the north-east geo-political zone of Nigeria. The O.L.A mission in the then vicariate of Bauchi, saw the arrival of Sisters Roseleen Da'silva and Lydia Audu on the 8th November 1999 in the company of Sr Mary Cahill, who was in Zawan the closest of all our communities in Northern Nigeria.

At the early stages the Sisters first settled in the Holy Child Sisters Convent building in Gwalameji- Yelwa, a few kilometers from the heart of Bauchi town.

When the plan was ready for the new convent building in Tafawa Balewa, the foundation was laid on 18th April 2000 by Bishop John Moore.

On the 18th of June 2001 the Sisters moved from the Holy Child convent to Tafawa Balewa.

Presently there is a clinic and a nursery and primary school there. The clinic began on the 16th December, 1999 as a mobile clinic to help  as well as to meet the health needs of the people of Tafawa Balewa and its environs irrespective of religious beliefs, race and tribe.

The  initial apostolate at the point of invitation was Medical. However, with a burning zeal in trying to respond adequately to the needs of the people of God in Tafawa Balewa local government and its environs, it became neccesary to delve into the education line. This gave rise to the founding of The Our Lady of Apostles nursery and Primary School in september 2002.
