Silver Jubilee celebrations

Recently in St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Yaba, Lagos, four sisters; Sr. Benedicta Odiri Amaihwe, Sr. Monica Chinenye Onwunali, Sr. Cordelia Obiageli Ogene and Sr. Juliet Igwilohi Aruya celebrated the silver jubilee of their religious profession.

Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Martins who was the chief celebrant at the Mass congratulated the four Sisters and invited all to follow in the footsteps of Christ. He says, "Christ calls us not to be afraid but to have faith in him. The crosses we must bear are the steps on the ladder that will lead us to heaven. Many people today wants to avoid the cross. When we follow the way of the cross, Christ adds something that makes our life more meaningful. Those who look for Jesus without the cross will find the cross without Jesus and that is why they will not be able to face or carry their crosses".

He encouraged the Jubiliarians to always look forward, examining the journey so far. To look forward to the future with hope and confidence, renewing their intimate relationship with Jesus and keeping their gazes always on him.

Sr. Assumpta Mordi, the Provincial Superior on behalf of the congregation thanked all present and in a special way thanked God for being with the Jubiliarians.
