Our Projects
Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles, Nigeria Province

Striving to keep alive the vision of our founder, Fr. Augustine Planque, SMA in our work of primary evangelization and being faithful to his missionary inspiration in order to witness to the meaning and the power of the Good news, we consecrate ourselves to evangelization, particularly in Africa. We participate directly in the mission of the church by collaborating in the building of a new world in accordance with the plan of God. This we carry out through our various apostolates. As scripture says; “whatsoever you do to the least of these little ones, you do to me”.

Presently we are working towards the realisation of the following projects:

      1.  A retirement home: As we celebrate the 25 years anniversary of our Province in May 2015, we are faced with the increasing number of our aging sisters and the need for a retirement home for both the elderly and the ailing sisters after years of meritorious service. This home will be built in Ibadan, Oyo State.

We therefore solicit your generous donations towards the realization of this project. Donations can be made into the following account:

       2.  Our Lady of Apostles Premier College: This is our First OLA owned Secondary School in   Nigeria. It is situated in Aruogba, a sub-urban area of Benin City. The school was established in 2007 with the sole aim of providing qualitative and holistic secondary school education to young boys and girls. As part of our contribution to curbing human trafficking and working towards gender equality, there is a urgent need of boarding facilities for girls where they will be trained to be women of integrity and dignity and also good leaders.

       3.   Badagry Mission is a newly opened community in the province. Badagry was once the seat of slave trade in Nigeria and a home to the Egun people amongst other groups. Here the sisters are fully involved in primary evangelization and also work with people infected with the HIV virus. There is a counselling centre for people living with HIV/AIDS. At the moment, there is  need for a clinic where patients can be treated effectively and also a convent for the sisters as they are currently living in a rented apartment.

      4.   A Retreat/counselling centre in Abuja. This centre will be open to women and young people of all walks of life.
