Friends of Our Lady of Apostles Sisters (FOLAS)
Who are they?
The Friends of Our Lady of Apostles Sisters (FOLAS) is an association of the friends and collaborators of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) in Nigeria. It was formed in the early 1990s after the erection of the Province of Nigeria of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles. It is an Association that brings together all friends, acquaintances, those who work and collaborate with the OLA Sisters all over Nigeria. A FOLAS group is organized at the local level, affiliated to OLA communities in various parts of the country.
- A FOLAS member is a practicing Catholic who desires to live his/her Christian vocation by witnessing to the love of Christ in daily life as a lay person in family and society.
- A FOLAS member is one who responds to the call to holiness by striving to live a good and holy life within his/her specific Christian vocation as a lay person in the Church.
- A FOLAS member lives the apostolic spirituality of the OLA by actively taking part in the life and activities of the local Church, e.g parish, diocese, etc.
- A FOLAS member prays daily for the OLA Sisters and their mission of evangelization.
